Universal joint instead of shaft
“Overtighten” the flexible shafts, i.e., there is no 1:1 force transmission (torsion). If, for example, the valve handle is rotated by 90°, the valve moves less than 90° due to the flexibility of the shaft. This effect is exacerbated as the length and temperature load of the shaft increases.
A great alternative to this is the use of universal joint together with a square rod. With two universal joints and a square rod, the flexible shaft can often be replaced and force transmission is 1:1.
